My name is Brett LaRue, and I was born and raised in Douglas County, Kansas. I graduated from Free State High School in 2001 and later obtained a degree in Business from Baker University--graduating magna cum laude. I have worn many hats in my life, and I have been involved in almost every aspect of the construction trade at one time or another. I have been an electrician apprentice, a handyman, a home remodeler, a general contractor, a Realtor--and just about everything in between! 
 
I was also a law enforcement officer for about 12 years, and I faithfully served my community until I suffered a career-ending back injury. After deliberating for a long time about the ways in which I could continue to serve my beloved community, I decided that being a home inspector was the absolute best fit for my both my family and me. However, even with my extensive knowledge of the residential construction industry, I felt I needed to get the most comprehensive education available so that I could ensure I was providing the best services to my clients. I found the best education was with InterNACHI, the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors. After months of training and classes, I attained the designation of Certified Professional Inspector, or CPI.

UPDATE 2021: I received my Certified Master Inspector designation from the Master Inspector Certification Board. This is the highest designation an inspector can receive, and the requirements for certification are the toughest in the industry.
